I had a bird that talked as much as Disco. His name was Data and I talked to him all the time. He started about 3 months. He had all sorts of phrases, except Data would bounce up and down while he went through all his phrases. He would also say C'mere and he knew what that meant and would say C'mere Penny..so our other parakeet. She never did tho lol. I know it isn't fake.

I have two birds, and I would absolutely LOVE to teach them how to speak. Everybody says, just talk to them every day. Is that true?

Well, it's part of the "secret," but not all of it - there are so many things that makes it possible to have a bird that "talks" this week, the other things are likely the bird's genetic makeup, how it was bred/raised, at what age it came into your home, how often you speak to it, how clearly you speak to it, etc. I always tell people you can't assume your bird will mimic like this, even if you talk to it all the time - it can't be the main reason you get any kind of mimicking species.

The non-believers make us laugh, don't worry! You are so sweet - yes, Disco is spoiled here, as are our dog and guinea pig, too. They rely on us to keep their environments stimulating and fun, don't they? :)

Hehe it's almost a shock to hear him go from babbling in human to twittering like a normal budgie. :) He's such a cutie pie though!
