Released in 1985 by US Gold. This game was diplomacy at its best. Even Boris Yeltsin enjoyed playing this while chugging on his vodka.

  • If I remember well, it was safe to fly at about 10-11 meters, too high for the tanks to hit you but not high enough for the rockets coming from behind.

  • I would always fly high to tempt the missile out then go low and shoot it from behind. Didn't always work though. Half the time the missile would destro you.

  • I was about 6 years old when I played this game, and I remember I always have trouble to get the plane out of the base, only few times i succeeded, other times, I let brother or father to get the plane out. very great memories indeed.

  • I had the same trouble as well! Took a bit of practise to master. A well put together game.

  • nice demo of how not to play this game

  • Not as superb as the C64 obviously but the Spectrum had it's own charms and no doubt people enjoyed this version too

Happy lost days these and i count myself lucky to have been there when most of it all happened

  • Well the zx won't take much rom up and its great fun and cheap - but not in a tacky way! ;)

  • Hehehehe yes, you are right. Sorry for this blasphem act! (Well, I have a little room on my heart for the ZX also..)

  • Yeah the two ending bit makes a change. Even if you lost all your men you still felt as if you had achieved something. What is it with people coming on here talking about C64.

  • By the time, the title change to a simply "RAID!" for diplomacy requeriments :) This is the first game with two endings I saw... The c64 version was just perfect!
