Vancouver Island ammonite find

Family holiday on Vancouver Island and naturally I had to go snooping around for fossils. I spotted an ammonite on the road edge where some work was recently done at the Nanimo motocross park. Waited for Lori to get the camera before I picked it up.

It turned out to be a Canadoceras from the upper cretaceous.

Is even shape the one at triassic or the Jurassic Period?

A lot of ammonites produce also in Japan where I live.

Cool find I have 3 450,000,000 year old ammonites there the size of dimes though
