Sounds like a train when it starts:-). 0:40 full load sounds like a lorry with a jake brake. I need this engine to annoy the neighbours!!

This MAN Diesel drive a 900 kVA generator and it works as reserve power for one of Sweden's main Radio and TV stations.
Its running on normal diesel. Smoke on start up is because there no glow plugs and the engine very seldom are in use, normally just the monthly test run. An electric oil-pump runs every day to build up oil pressure and circulate oil. Some oil then leaks out in turbochargers, intake and exhaust and then when it starts after a month or so it have to smoke out that oil.
