Lions, monkeys, and bears are forced to act like circus clowns. This is at the same zoo (Kunming) where a child riding a tiger was mauled to death in 2007.

this is sick, really sick. in chinese zoos, animal parks and circuses the abuse of animals is widespread. bears, monkeys, elephants, wolves and big cats are among the animals who are routinely beaten into submission and forced to do absurd tricks for the entertainment of ignorant crowds.

there are no animal protection laws in china to prohibit such behavior.

The scary thing is that china's population and economy has th capability of being so much bigger than America or Europe combined. That's a lot of dead and or abused animals. I hope with the span of technology they snap out of it faster than we did before all their nature is lost.

@Yuffie3982 We had these same kind of zoos in Europe and North America less than 100 years ago. This sort of ignorant behavior towards animals usually comes with emerging economies. In America, we use to kill exotic birds for a single feather to put in a hat, or elephants for ivory trinkets. Hell most of the time, things got killed just for fun. Where do you think the American Mustang, wolf or Bison went? They went out because of our ignorance.
