on a very wet and rainy Saturday 20th March, I payed a Visit to the Midlands to spend the day on the Trains, through-out the day i spent at the Great Central Railway's Mini Gala staring LNER Peppercorn A1 Class 60163 'Tornado' making its much antisipated Visit back to the Line, the Loco was first test ran there and hauled its first ever passenger trains and high speed runs between September & October 2008, then on my way home, i would be stopping off at derby to see a railtour headed by a truely magnificent diesel locomotive, D1015 'Western Champion'
The tour ran from Bristol Temple Meads, to Buxton Via Derby & Wakefield using the Hydrolic Monster as Motive Power through-out, this was the first time i had seen a Class 52 Loco in motion, so this short meeting at derby surely shown me what i had been missing! the train arrived at Derby on time and from what i could see a packed to the rafters train using a variety of Different Livery BR Mk1 Coaches, they looked superb, dispite the gloomy weather!
The GCR video will be uploaded in the near future, Monday or Tuesday (at the time of writing) by the latest! hope you enjoy this breif video
