Same fire as "On the Roof Again", but earlier in the fire. Members of LAFD ventilating a fully involved attic fire. Upon arriving on scene to a four unit bungalow, it appeared as if the front unit with smoke and flames from the side alley was involved but it was actually an exterior fire that extended into the attic. For those of you that think the roof "self vented" prior, all the fire blowing out of the roof was from holes that were cut.

  • The fire manifested itself as one unit involved in a four unit bungalow, but in actuality was an attic fire with outside eave involvement due to a faulty electrical panel. Unaware, the roof team kept cutting until the fire subsided because they assume the engine company needed the relief from heat and smoke. LAFD companies move extremely fast and train for an aggressive fire attack. Plus the interior structure below was minimally damaged.

  • He is pulling cuts made by the roof team. An additional FF from the BLS ambulance after completing forcible entry and throwing a ground ladder, he was able to don his SCBA and pull the cuts that were too hot for the members of the roof team that did not have their masks on yet.

  • They know when to get off the roof.

  • That was funny I was like, "what is he doing, it's vented!" and about that time the other firefighter was like get the heck off the roof!!

  • Great job LAFD! Keep up the good work. Well said flyboy615. I am willing to bet that all these people trying to talk down on them do not have DEDICATED TRUCK COMPANY'S. If you don't than your right, you should probably stay off the roof because you don't have the training, experience, manpower, dept. Size, or proper equipment. I guarantee you LAFD has all of the above and they are the best at it. All you haters stay off the roof and leave that to the professionals

  • @flyboy615 Agreed

  • how is it "again" if it's only part one?

  • It's called being an AGGRESSIVE and EXPERiENCED fire Dept. That's the problem with today's fire service safety this safety that while safety is obviously important our job is inherently dangerous. The safety for these guys is their experience they know much better then you and I where they should and shouldn't be. Hats off to LAFD for continuing to be an aggressive dept.

  • @2gngster4u

hmmm so you are going to judge a dept. such as the LAFD on their safety precautions and training?

You know you''re right they probably dont have any safety procedures to follow and have bad training, it's not like they're a huge, municipal, respected department or anything.

  • either it was training or they dont have any safety percautions... this is what i was told NOT to do

  • Great video and all that can be said by anyone who understands a trucks job is great work and AWESOME discipline. I've gotta hand it to the left coasters - you guys open up like no one else! Great job brothers!

  • If all the fire is in the attic why go on the roof?wouldnt it be the weakest part of the structure????????????
