I was a kid when Layne died, but I still remember being sad the day it happened. I remember being angry. I didnt know Alice in Chains as well as I do now, but I already knew that one of the best singers in the world was dead. Now, being a fan as I am, the only thing I can think about his death is that no genius really fits in this world. We will love him and his voice forever. RIP Layne.

But i want to say something, yes james hetfield from Metallica and Layne were not friends, but metallica and Alice in Chains yes. They only make fun of each other. What a waste of a terrific talent. I remember when I heard Layne had died. It was well known that it was a matter of time for years before. It was amazing he lasted as long as he did. He had actually faded into obscurity before dieing. But we still have this music and voice to listen to. Incredible.

Thank you!! Great Tribute to Layne. He was such a beautiful person, inside and out.. He means so much to me, even though he's been gone for almost 10 years. He is still in my life everyday.
