The M61 Vulcan is a 20 mm hydraulically or pneumatically driven, six-barreled, air-cooled, electrically fired Gatling-style cannon with an extremely high rate of fire. The M61 and its derivatives have been the principal cannon armament of United States military fixed-wing aircraft for five decades. The M61 was originally produced by General Electric, and after several mergers and acquisitions is currently produced by General Dynamics.

  • the german FOKKER-LEIMBERGER had 12 barrels shooting 7200 rds min in 1916

  • @kenberger wait till you see the explosive rounds

  • This would solve 184 of my problems.

  • @kenberger I can't outrun that :(

  • Solving 100 problems a second.

  • sounds like a chainsaw

  • Read somewhere that the early M-61 caused gas induced compressor stalls on the F-105. Also shell casings would get ingested too even with the out the bottom ejection system. Amazing to think it all goes back to the time of the American civil war.

  • @kenberger you can't it will get you
