Tipping Point Helps Bring Single Stop to the Bay Area

More than 1.3 million people in the Bay Area cannot afford their basic needs. The supports in place - free health insurance, food stamps, childcare subsidies and tax credits, often go unclaimed because the current system fails to meet the complexities of the lives of those who need it most. SingleStop bridges the information gap and removes the fear and stigma from this process by providing free one-on-one counseling at community based organizations that people know and trust. At the 2008 Tipping Point Benefit donors contributed a remarkable $1.5 million dollars to bring six SingleStop sites to the Bay Area.
