the english tried (and failed) to stop Irish people speaking gaeilge. the english also tried and failed to make the Irish change their reglion i.e. from being catholic to protestant.

@sainglain that's bloody true! Ireland is the best example of cultural independence, despite several centuries of heavy influence. And the unique countries are the ones that stand out ;) u should all be proud ^^

Whether it is unusual or not, nobody can deny how unique it makes you. Being the only Brazilian to be able to speak Gaelic. It's not that unusual for someone to become enchanted with another culture anyway.
