@ecdctech use winzip for windows or google unzipping software for ur computer.

for anyone wondering, if it the root doesn't succeed, just keep flashing it until it does. I finally got a success message after 5 tries.

@iruiz06 logically this should work on the first try but for some odd reason, yes, sometimes it takes multiple tries on this phone.

Thank you so much! I have a question tho and i beg u please to respond. Is there any way of updating my tmobile samsung galaxy s2? And if there is how, and will i still be able to root it if the phone is updated. I recently had a mytouch 4g and as soon as i updated it, i was not able to root it anymore and i want to make sure that this does not ever happen again. Thank you!

@techmobo dont do the update instead install a ROM with the update.

If you are installing for the first time on 2.3.6 and you get the installation error that he has in the video, I found that if I just tell it to install from that zip a second time back to back, it succeeds and the root works.

@Nixlek Just an update what you said worked for me , but just so that it'll be clear for others

when you get the abort mssg that it didn't succeed loading the file form sd card. MAKE SURE TO GO ALL THE WAY BACK WHERE THE BLUE LETTERS BEGIN THEN GO FROM THERE UNTIL YOU REACH THE .ZIP FILE ON THE SD CARD IF YOU JUST TRY TO SHORTCUT THE INSTALLATION IT WON'T WORK AND WILL KEEP GETTING THE ABORTED MSSG. THAT HAPPENED TO ME LIKE 3 OR 4 TIMES UNTIL I WENT ALL THE WAY BACK. Hope it helps someone.

unfortunately, the recovery file that i downloaded, came in as an IMG file, instead of a tar file. can anybody help me please?
