deep in the heart of Exmoor National Park, in a secluded wooded valley, the cosy hamlet of Rockford lies nestled in a rocky gorge carved out by the fast flowing East Lyn River. Just 1 mile from the village of Brendon and 1 mile from the National Trust Tearooms at Watersmeet it's a delightful and peaceful spot. Of course it has its own old 17th century pub, The Rockford Inn, from where you can sit and enjoy a pint and the views by the riverbank.
The Samaritans Way footpath (which connects with the South West Path) runs almost the entire length of this dramatic river from Brendon down to the sea at Lynmouth.
Exmoor is such a lovely part of the world.
