ok :D I just told you about that because in my country that would be judged as a missed contact... Here there are a lot of dogs such us German Shepherds or Dobermans that has long strides so they have a lot of problems with the first contact of the A-frame/dogwalk.
well, bye! kisses and sorry if I have mistakes writting in english haha I'm learning it :)

Great! How did you train him to go so fast over the contacts?

Thanks! :) My a-frame isn't as large, and in most organizations they wouldn't fault that anyway. He isn't performing unsafe, that's just his natural stride, so I don't pay any mind to it.

Well, I really don't have any. My dad built it for me. Its basically a 2(thickness) x 12(width) + 10?(lenght), with 2 x 4's on both sides for more support. The base is just a metal connected to heavy wood on the bottom. I wish it were adjustable though.

I am immensely jealous of those contacts! :D

And to think I didn't even need to really train for it. He just naturally does those strides when running to the yellow,.. seeing as that he never missed a dog walk or a-frame contact when running even in trials, I think they should be pretty reliable. Just need more work on that teeter, and work on my own handlign of the teeter.(Part of the problem with flyoffs is probably me.)
