take the AK! sure you lose a little accuracy at a distance but when SHTF, I know I got more faith in my 122 grain bullet than a 55grain bullet

@1911in45acp I agree. I have an AK in 5.56. So I only need one kind of ammo. I'd give the wife the AK and I take the AR and both use the same ammo.

Well you gotta think, what kind of ammo is gonna be lying around... definitely more .223. Its used heavily by our military and law enforcement. Also in the civilian world, its just as popular as the AK. So, for SHTF, I say AR15, because the ammo for it will be EVERYWHERE.

On the tv show sons of guns the owner Will said our goverment still dont make a gun that will out do the ak so i would go with my ak47 or my ak74.

AR for me. Of course it would be my own personal AR, not just any old one. BCM 16" Midlength with an Aimpoint H1 and a surefire light. Not all AR's are made alike and the same goes for AK's. Good shooting.

@gundam0069 Better control of the weapon. As for AR or AK, depends on if it's a 74 or 47, but in general I could care, their all great weapons.
