How Passive Solar Design Works

The house should be designed to allow sunlight to enter and heat the home during the winter time. During the summer, the sun sits high on the horizon. By designing the home to block sunlight from entering the home in the summer, the house stays cooler. By placing venting windows high in the house together with ceiling fans, makes it possible to evacuate heat. Passive solar is the most effective and least expensive way to heat and cool a home.
