Yongyeok (the people hired by governments especially for destroying illegal houses or shops of poor tenants by force) invaded an urban poor community in Seoul on 12 Aug 2011.

The community's name is 'Jaegeon Community', and is located in the Gangnam District, which is one of the richest districts in Seoul. The settlement was burned down to the ground in a massive fire on 12 June 2011. 75 out of 96 households living there were left homeless by a three-hour fire started from a boy who was playing with fire at a junkyard.

The community recently began to rebuild houses by themselves. However, their hope was totally torn down by the local government. 100 of Yongyeok invaded the community at 4:30am and destroyed 3 rebuilt houses. Also, 3 houses under construction were partially destroyed.

South Korea is a member of OECD. However, there are still many urban poor communities without proper housing rights.
