The 26th running of the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge®, a 3.5-mile road race open to full-time members of the Bay Area workforce.
A crowd of exactly 6,674 participants from 257 companies. The number of companies participating is the largest since 1990 and 23-percent higher than last year's total of 5,376 participants. The 10 largest participating companies are: Genentech (535 entrants); Salesforce.com (365); JPMorgan Chase (325); Blackrock (280); VMware (256); Autodesk (164); Pacific Gas & Electric (134); Lucasfilm (129); Wells Fargo (109); SAP (100).
This is the first time the event has been held on the Embarcadero since 1990. Previous sites: Fisherman's Wharf area (1993-2000); Crissy Field (2002-2009).
The JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation on behalf of the raced to the YMCA of San Francisco Kids to Camp Fund, featuring Camp Jones Gulch in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
