Windows 7 Dreamscene - Using A Video As Your Wallpaper (Narrated)

This is a quick look at getting and installing Windows Dreamscene for Windows 7. This allows you to set a movie or video clip as the background of your desktop.

!!! "If you have a problem ctrl+alt+delete and restart your computer" !!!

*Only works with .wmv and .mpg files*

TESTED ON: x86 and x64
-seems to make desktop icons text clear. I'll post an updates if this is fixed.

To fix and resolve the desktop icons' text not visible, hidden or transparent issue, follow these steps:

1. Right click on Desktop, and select Personalize.
2. Switch back to default Windows 7 Aero Theme. The desktop background will be reset to default wallpaper.
3. Set the video clip as DreamScene motion desktop background again. The desktop icons' text will remain visible in white color font.

Alternative method:

1. Right click on Desktop, and select Personalize.
2. Go to Desktop Background section at the bottom.
3. Under Picture Position drop down menu, select Fill.
4. Click on Save changes button. The desktop background will be reset to default wallpaper.
5. Set the video clip as DreamScene motion desktop background again. The desktop icons' text will remain visible in white color font.

@EpicEish If you're using the exe, run it as administrator. If it's the rar that you're extracting, extract it somewhere else (desktop), then moving it.

i have done this with a lot of people and everytime i do it...it puts it in winRAR and then when i try to extract it, it does but then the registry errors and it wont let me.

then when it does work...it tells me on my cmd that i can press any key to install....but then when i do...it removes it from my computer no matter what key i press...please help me!!

@sis4949GiRL If it's opening in winrar you're using the x64 version. Make sure you're using the correct version (x64, x86). Read the instructions after it opens in winrar (the readme file).

Didn't work or install at all. I get to the point where it says it's restarting Windows Explorer. The explorer shuts down and never restarts. Waste of my time.

It isn't too good... like that in win vista.... the video wallpaper on windows 7 doesn't play smoothly...

@blakewy ok i rebooted and now it will play for about 3 seconds and stop and say that it has encountered an unrecoverable error

It installed and everything worked fine except when i rightclicked the wmv file and set it it didnt appear on the desktop

i suppose im using x64, but when i download it, and do the registry - nothing happens afterwards. i put the d.ll. mui file in sistem32 but nothning installs
