Killer bug has been produced by staff at The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust to encourage hand hygiene and flu vaccinations.

THRILLER
Vaccine vaccine now!
It's close to winter and something evil's lurking in the dark
Under the lightbox, you see a sight that almost stops your heart
You try to scream infection control is always there to find you
You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes
Not sanitized.

'Cause it's a killer, killer bug ward
There's no one's gonna save you from the beast about strike
Killer, killer bug
You need to wash your hands, so can you , wash them, wash them, now

You hear the door slam and see the virus lurking on the ward
You feel the cold hand and wonder if you'll also get the runs
You close your eyes and hope that this is just imagination
But all the while you hear the creature creeping up inside
You're out of time
'Cause it's a killer, killer bug
There's no one's gonna save you from the beast about strike
Killer, killer bug
You need to wash your hands, so can you , wash them, wash them, now

The bugs they are crawling, the nurses are falling, the ward's alive
There's no escaping the jaws of the bugs this time
Let's put an end to their lives.

They're out to get you, there's sneezing closing in on every side
They will infect you unless you call that number on your dial
Now is the time for you and I to get the jab together
Don't be afraid, we'll fight the killer flu bug altogether
That will be better.

So get your vaccine, vaccine now
There ain't no second chance to get yourself be immunised.
Vaccine, vaccine now.
It's just a little jab and it won't leave a crusty scab.

So get your vaccine, vaccine now
There ain't no second chance to get yourself be immunised.
Vaccine, vaccine now.
It's just a little jab and it won't leave a crusty scab.

Narration:

Influenza and Norovirus are potentially life threatening infections in vulnerable patients.

Health care workers are duty bound to provide a safe environment in which to care for these individuals

By ensuring good infection control precautions such as hand hygiene and the use of protective equipment and by being vaccinated against the influenza virus, Staff can protect themselves, their families and their patients
