We are removing the dash from this jeep to fix a common problem on Jeep Grand Cherokees. The problem is that the recirculation door breaks and falls down on top of the blower motor causing the blower motor not to be able to blow any air out of the vents. We show the broken parts and where they are located in this video.

  • Omg.. You have to take off the entire dash to access the blower? It took me 2 seconds to get to my blower on my civic.

  • @JoelPerezident You can access the blower motor without removing the dash.

  • sucks mice got somewhere up in the dash behind my glove box in my cherokee, and when it rains water comes in on that side. im guessing they pluged something up with their nest. im sure i'll have to take the whole thing apart to clean it out.

  • @burkdogg21 Yes that is too bad they probably ate through something if they are indeed Rats.

  • Ok I just bought (today) and immaculant 99 JGC and thought i got a steal! Unfortunatly the only area heat blows out is the defrost. If it heats the cabin up eventually I could live with it for a while, but the temp goes from being warm to cold which I thought might just be the thermostat. Any advice is appreciated!

BTW - why do mechanics take so much time to post youtube videos? Does it drive business to you or are you just sewing good seed in the world?

  • @Beemrr Well to be honest I am usually working on cars not sitting at the computer. So I do agree it takes me awhile to get back around to answering these.

  • ashley is a cutie... only cutest girl mechanic ive ever seen

  • This video just killed any chance I had of removing the dash by myself.

  • Got to love it when every thing is preset for a video, No ac purge or heater lines disconnected in this vid. Also front seats removed and prolly no engine in vehicle to work around. the heater lines alone are a MAJOR pain in the ass, Wht not show the correct way to remove them here. Also not shown is the hidden nut under the dash above the pedal cluster, If your gonna take the time to make an instructional vid take the time to do it right!

  • amazing job!

  • I'm cursing a heater core in a 2000 Jeep GC right now, but I didn't evac the a/c. A little more of a pain in the butt, but there's no extra cost. I split the heater box and left the a/c evaporator and the top portion the of heater box in the vehicle while I removed the bottom, it has to be hosed out anyway because there's coolant in all the little pockets in the air box. I also found a broken blend door.

  • My evaporator is leaking in my 99 GC, would you recommend taking apart the dash to a newb? they want 1500+ for the job, can't afford it right now..

  • @Mr10inchnail My sentiments exactly!! couldn't have said it better..

  • who's the shit head at chyrsler who designed this ?

  • how did u disconnected from the pipe attach to the engine please let me know asap

  • I like Ashly she is super cute
