The best ones that I played is THPS 2,3,4, and Underground 2. American Wasteland was okay but when Project 8 came around, it was getting stale. They tried to turn it around with Shred but it didn't do so well. They need to neither go back to the basics of Underground and American Wasteland or make it realistic like SKATE and ditch the skateboard controller idea.

THPS2 is one of the most fun games ever made. Then the series went downhill...

Obviously, but you can't deny that it was when it came out. Sure, you could grind for ungodly lengths, and jump incredibly high, but overall, it was a really realistic skating simulator.
