Someone at Sam Ash asked John Scofield to play a traditional blues, so he did. The guitar he is playing in the video is his own that he brought with him to the store.

  • I wonder if there is some Scofield influences in the video respons "Blues Jam Guitar". What do you think? :)

  • @leftygitarr Why would you wonder? You're the one who played it? You should know better.

  • @fayerman Just intrested in opinions from others. I was thinking if it sounds like a well known player. I thought: there's maybe some Scofield in it. :)

  • @leftygitarr If you do sound like Scofield, do you think it's an accomplishment? I think you should strive for sounding unique, unlike anyone else.

  • The best thing i learned being a bluesman was that blues is narrow, beautiful and unlimited inside its very limited resources. then i learned some other stuff and realized the blues is everywhere: jazz, latin, you name it... then I learned that music is a language so i stopped trying to find blues on top of them all just because it was all i could put my stupid finger to play, so i started studying music and enjoy it all even more.

  • This piece demonstrates several qualities inherent in Teles .It is quite unforgiving of any mistakes or sloppy playing as can be heard when Schofield lays down the initial rhythm part .It can also sound sweet at other times and no other guitar has the bite and strong, defined projection from the bridge pick up that a good Tele possesses.I enjoyed this demonstration of a unique and uncompromising guitar.

  • @fayerman If striving to do a solo like Scofield was his goal then ofcourse sounding like him is an achievment. Him conforming to what YOU think he should sound like is just retarded. I mean, who the fuck are you?

  • @fayerman That's a good one. I share your opinion. Still, it's intresting to learn what people think. It is not wrong to develop things you learn from other players.

  • @FunnyLiverpool Well it's not. The chords are not the same, and there's no melody.

  • damn that lick at 1:00 min is sweet!

  • Does anyone know what kind of loop pedal did he use?

  • the caught him in guitar center!
