Redneck Mowers go FAST!!!

The first mower is an old unidentified murray that only had it's belts changed(and yes it does have string for a throttle). Mine is an old John Deere 160 '87 model, light modification to rear end and engine. The 5-speed transaxle is on the verge of failure, but rather than maintain it, I have a straight axle I'll replace it with at some point.

@buttersbutt just swap the pulleys. big on front and small on the back for a better gear ratio. you will need to buy pulleys for the different sized shafts. remove the governor for more rpm.

Whistler, I'm getting my first riding mower pretty soon. The first thing I plan on doing is removing the deck, but I'm not sure where to go from there. What's really needed to soup up a mower?. I was also wondering if you could sudjust some manuals/reading material.
