Narrated by Ted Danson and based on the book by Charles Clover, THE END OF THE LINE explores the devastating effect that overfishing is having on fish stocks and the health of our oceans. Scientists predict that if we continue fishing at the current rate, the planet will completely run out of fish by 2048.

  • @1ukjunglednbraver At last someone with some common sense! Thanks for your reply to my post. I had a conversation with a guy that works on a Fishery Research ship a few weeks ago. He told me that many scientists are not interested in finding out the true state of stocks of fish, they only want to paint a black picture because the minute they say everything is fine they will have their budgets cut and many of them will be looking for jobs.

  • @captainwull yes i think your right to take out every last blue fin tuna would be very difficult not that its the plan...as soon as hunting the fish becomes so hard that it becomes worthless to try as the cost will be so huge and majority of people just wont pay anymore except for the super rich that will no doubt pay millions for a fish there will still be bluefin swimming about saying that the stock would take a hundred years to go back even longer i asume they take a long time to grow

  • i wanna see this movie again in webmovietube

  • watch complete edition of this kind of film right here in mimb o .net remove space

  • @AlxInksYourBass10 Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but a lot of damage can be done when people who have no idea what they are talking about insist on having their opinions heard.

Scientists admit they know more about the moon than they know about our oceans so how can anyone possibly say with any real conviction we could catch the last fish.

This whole programme is complete fantasy and will only help destroy the lively hoods of some of the most hardworking people in society today.

  • ...in checking the global quota is not surpassed; however it is in the artisan fisheries where it is most difficult to hold that control. Some might say artisan fisheries do not mean a lot in the whole figure, but in a country as Peru where they mean tens of thousands of tons of hold capacity, the are a force to be taken into account. Fortunately, many of our fellow artisan fishermen in Peru are well aware of the consequences for the future and have started to care for the long-term catches :)

  • They are. For example in Peru, where there's a very stringent and complicated system for, first, the allocation of the global quota, then the allocation of individual quotas and then the control on the landings and actual catches. That global quota is fixed under an eco-systemic basis. Control is carried out not only by the government (as governments are easily bribed, I suppose!) but also by private companies (SGS and their likes). I understand there is some difficulty...

  • @arrielfim yeah but the quota's have to be inforced......

  • there are more things in life than jus thinking abt seafood...dumb movie!
