The characters are still unplayable because the game is still in development. In the final, final production, all of the boss characters will be available.

i beat all bosses till alpha without losing a single round with Erus, then i had 3-4 continues before i got alpha too, and then i've got NOTHING, the characters are still unplayable.....grrrrr...
