Summer 2006 - Sam corgi who had been diagnosed with kidney failure (CRF, GN, PLN, PLE, IBD, possible SIBO) and given 6 weeks to live is beating the odds by several months in this video.

Sam is here..vibrant, happy and playing with his toy Pig. Sam's 3 1/2yo corgi brother Mikey remained a constant "distraction". And Sam's 11yo corgi niece, Maggie looms beautifully in the background. Mamma and Dadda are there in love and in shadow.

Sam lived large for a little angel.

We have a beautiful August evening, 4 months after Sam's terminal diagnosis (4/06) and there is a squeaky pig...Enjoy!

  • *sigh* These critters always leave scars on the heart. Sam sure looked like a sweetheart. I'm sorry for your loss.

  • Thank you very much for this...my heart still aches for Sam and reading your kind words means alot! Thank you! I love my Sam... CorgiHugs to you!

  • im sorry to hear about your corgi. about a year and a half ago, we lost our corgi to prostate and bladder cancer. treatment costs were too high for such a small dog so we had to let him go. watching this is wonderful.

  • Thank you for writing! We understand your decision, we had to make a tough one too. CorgiHugs to you! Peace and love, Sam's mom

  • is kidney failure common in corgis? cuz it seems like it ...=/

  • I don't think kidney failure is prevalent in corgis more than other breeds. I sure hope not, I have other corgis too. I was on a yahoo k9kidney list while Sam was ill and there were many. many other breeds there and many hundreds of subscribers. thank you for asking! Peace to you and yours!
