Ingleton Pottery http://www.ingletonpottery.co.uk After numerous requests I decided to have a go at making / throwing a Tea pot.
I did the whole process in one video so you won't have to watch several different ones for each different bit, like throwing the body, pulling handles making the spout trimming , making the lid etc etc.
Believe it or not this is actually my first attempt at throwing a tea pot as my dad does all that kind of stuff.
I'm not the best at making handles but this didn't turn out too badly.
Clay throwing wheel pottery making demo.
Anyway for all of you who have clicked to see the video thanks for watching.
Dan.

  • First of all I want to say that I admoire the fact that you can wear your watch while throwing! I am so messy! :) Also, I am interested in the trimming tool you used, I have never seen one like that before.. and did you use calipers to measure for your lid? or are you just genius!

  • LOVE this demonstration! Absolute perfection!!

  • @laurlaur021 he makes the tools himself i believe. the best way I find to make mine is just simply using a hacksaw blade, bend the top to the right size grind of the teeth and create the shape you want for the tip with the grinder

  • you make it look so easy! amazing job.

  • im an engineering student and i was wondering, can ur clay pots and cups survive a drop from 2 meter without being fractured, as this knowledge is needed to aid my research and project, or is there any way of reinforcing the clay to become stronger , please give feedback as ur feedback would be viable
