I had issues with KDE 4.1...mostly irratations and glitches...however KDE 4.2 is HUGELY improved over 4.1...I highly suggest trying it. Oh and I have a Nvidia graphics card...no problems at all...Make sure when you update to 4.2 that you delete your old .kde4 folder so a new one is created when you start the gui.

Dont know what you mean by a "Ugly blank frame".

Yes KDE4.2 has performance improvements, caching will help and kwin has been optimized better.

Just so you know. I was a long time KDE user, but with KDE4.1 I was too disappointed and switched to Gnome.

What I mean by "Ugly blank frame". You should watch your video again. Part: 0:11
Not to mention issues with nVidia. KDE4 feels so slow and bloated and choppy in general.

Your talking about the google gadgets UI which has nothing to do with KDE?.

Yes KDE4.x shows how bad nvidia drivers are and shows xorg bugs because it's new technology, it's not KDE4.x fault.

No I'm not talking about Google Gadgets. This happens to nearly every KDE4 program I open. It's frustrating.

How about the scrolling lag? When you scroll a large list (for example Amarok's collection list), does it still have an annoying lag? I want it to be instant. If Windows can do it, so should KDE.

As for nVidia, I really hope 180 is any better. I'll try it later.

Try the new 180 binary driver. They made many, many improvements wrt KDE 4 support. It's like night and day.
