An instructional photo/video for shakuhachi inlaid rattan binding. By Ken LaCosse.

Japanese urushi is optional here. I like using it because it acts as glue and also allows for control over the shade of the rattan.

BE VERY CAREFUL when using urushi. It contains 'urushiol' which is the same substance found in poison ivy. It can cause severe rashes. Two part epoxy is a good substitute.
