@rasmasyean They've had several stand alone M.C. Extenders, 2 probs. Sometimes they went on sale otherwise @ the B&M stores they were really expensive! AND It's been a while since I specifically have seen them. 1 things M$ seems to do is EOL products before people really catch up to them. For ex the XP & Vista media center remotes: they don't sell the M$ versions anymore (except ebay ) for many years despite HTPC's getting more & more popular. Maybe overkill but.... xbox maybe all there is

Are they comming out with a cheaper and lower power "media center extender" than the XBox? It seems buying an XBox is a bit of an overkill for just watching TV.

Do these "Stack"? i.e. Can you use like 2 of them to get 6 tuners, etc.?

Doesnt the PS3 also work as a media extender?

@nkdumb024 I use the OTA dual tuner HDHomerun and the PC in my study does all the recording for me. I use an XBox 360 as an extender to get the signal to my TV in the family room as well as one in the bedroom. It works brilliantly and better than any DVR I have used from the cable company.

How can I get this to multiple HDTVs easily? Media center extenders? which ones specifically? any other options? thanks in advance!

@Belzard Yes it can record HD, but whether it's DRM free depends on your service provider.

@Bdubslawman that's the first thing that came to mind... don't think mythtv and DRM would mix well together :)
how would that be bypassed??
