  • I ordered a liftmaster 3800 jackshaft opener today. That should free up another foot or so. Then I can get rid of the fluorescents and stick in cans with bright fluorescents.

  • The doors all have standard genie accelerator openers. The top car is backed onto the lift and put as far back as possible. Since the front hood slope is so low there is no interference.Check out the bendpak aluminum racing jack video. You can see both cars on the lift with the door open. Hope it all works out for you.Check out the lift master 3800 as a possibility or use high rails and mount the opener flush to the ceiling.

  • I am installing a Bendpak HD-12B that I bought used from an emissions place in Missouri that sold off everything when the state shut them down. My lift was only used for about 4 months. This should come in handy when I am installing it. I have copies of the instructions and will be following those to the "T" but it is always helpful to have a movie of how to do it! Thanks for taking the trouble!

  • Sounds like you got a great lift!

  • Thanks for posting this clip. I had a Bendpak HD9ST delivered a week ago and I'm in the process of getting it set up. Your pulley shaft polishing tips and strap for tensioining the cables is a great idea.

    Cheers

  • You look like you have an identical set-up to what I am doing. Garagewise and all. My garage has a 10'-1" ceiling. I also have a "conventional" roll-up garage door in this bay (with no automatic opener) as it looks like you do also. Does the Garage door get in the way of a car in the lifted position? In my 3-D graphics it looks like this could be a problem. I want to be able to use this lift for storage purposes also for the "4th car" in a 3 car garage. Maybe a scroll type door is needed?

  • Thanks alot for the video, made it alot easier to put mine together

  • Nice work. I just ordered mine today. I think the bushing work is key. Very nice job. Hope you have enough ceiling height for the max elevation:)
