  • @joe9320 : The ironic thing is that the long "e" and short "i" are distinct phonemes even in Tagalog. I can understand why for instance a Japanese person will mix up their L's and R's since they aren't distinct phonemes in Japanese. But that's not the case here.

  • I'm half-Filipino, born in the Philippines, and it's funny. They mix up e and i, and the f and p.
