A debate with Christopher Hitchens, Rabbi David Wolpe, Sam Harris, and Rabbi Bradley Artson Shavit.

A debate between two Atheists and two Rabbis. Very insightful, eye opening and funny.

Is There An Afterlife? Debate. Event took place on February 15th 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at the Wadsworth Theatre in Los Angeles, CA

Sorry for the poor video quality. This is the best I can have it appear for now. The original video wasn't great quality either.

  • The rabbi provides a good example of sophistry, the ability to seem to make important points by saying a lot without saying anything at all.

  • @grubelsucht i have now added that word to my vocab :D

  • woah woah woah, did that guy just try to insult north korea?

  • @mackiechang That's not the first time ;)

  • @Thisshitisfuckedup You actually named your dog "Mr. Snuffles"?

  • @Felipesimon Then damn it all, whats the point of all this, what?!

  • @Thisshitisfuckedup sorry that you found that out like this =/

  • Wait, so I'm not going to see Mr. Snuffles in heaven?

  • @Kasparov178 If you actually listened to what Hitchens says, he makes numerous specific statements. He points out serious flaws in the BASIC PRECEPTS of religions. The spiritual leaders then spend a lot of time dancing around, talking about different interpretations and other flowery speech filler. Not once do they directly rebut any of Hitchens' arguments.

  • @grubelsucht I would go one further and say that he is saying a lot to avoid making important points

  • @Kasparov178 The crying baby is Jesus and his followers because they need their imaginary friend and warm blanky to sleep at night.

  • Thank you for posting this, ilisbaani.

  • @DumbFish1 It's all in all the content of his comments, no specific statement. He's constantly confronted with rebuttal of his prejudices towards religious people, but in the end he's not willing to accept that. So, in order to lose no attention, he keeps on telling prejudices, half-truthes and generalizations. The "crying baby" metaphor i used to show that a deep and load voice shall not be an indicator for the validity of certain claims.
