Egypt VS algeiria [4 -0] ZIZOOOO African Nations Cup 2010 - Les Pharaons rejoignent les Black Stars (4:0)

L'Egypte a marqué quatre buts et l'Algérie a pris trois cartons rouges : les Pharaons ont survolé leur demi-finale de la CAN-2010 (4:0), jeudi à Benguela, et se qualifient ainsi pour leur 3e finale continentale d'affilée qui se jouera dimanche contre le Ghana.

L'Egypte prend une petite revanche sur son adversaire qui s'était qualifié en novembre 2009 au prochain Mondial à ses dépens, et étend à 18 matches sans défaite sa série record en CAN. Elle bat aussi l'Algérie pour la première fois de son histoire sur terrain neutre, alors que les Fennecs lui avaient fait subir son dernier revers dans le tournoi continental (en 2004).

Quatre buts (égyptiens) et trois cartons rouges (algériens) résument cette confrontation qui fut à sens unique. "Nous allons donner aux Algériens une bonne leçon de football", avait dit l'arrière Moawad. Promesse tenue.

Confrontation qui eut lieu cette fois exclusivement sur le terrain, aucun incident entre les rares mais bruyants supporters (1000 Algériens et 200 Egyptiens environ) n'ayant été signalé.

Et ironie de l'histoire, et de manière cruelle pour l'Algérie, c'est un de ses trois joueurs victimes du caillassage en novembre 2009 au Caire, Halliche, alors blessé à l'arcade sourcilière et au visage spectaculairement sanguinolent, qui a déclenché le naufrage.

37e minute : Halliche dévisse un dégagement, Meteeb récupère le ballon et fonce vers la cage algérienne, avant d'être fauché par le même Halliche. Exclusion du défenseur (pour un deuxième avertissement), et penalty pour l'Egypte transformé par Hosni (39e, 1:0).

Zidan (65e, 2:0), Abdel-Shafy (81e, 3:0) et Gedo (90e+4) pouvaient finir le travail au sein d'une défense aux abois. Et d'autant plus démoralisée par l'exclusion de Belhadj (71e), qui donnait dans la confrontation directe avec un tacle les deux pieds décollés sur les chevilles d'Al-Mohamadi. Le gardien Chaouchi quittait lui aussi la partie après un second acte d'antijeu (88e).

Une confrontation ? De styles surtout : un jeu clinique et appliqué en passes courtes côté égyptien, sans s'affoler, et un jeu désordonné chez les Algériens, qui n'arrivaient tout simplement pas à poser leur jeu ni à compenser ces lacunes par leur habituel supplément d'âme.

A ce jeu-là, les Algériens laissaient leurs adversaires s'infiltrer entre les lignes et récupérer tous les "seconds ballons" repoussés par la défense. Comme s'ils avaient perdu tous leurs moyens. Comme si, finalement, la qualification à la Coupe du Monde de la FIFA, Afrique du Sud 2010, obtenue de haute lutte face aux mêmes Egyptiens, leur suffisait...

Pourtant, les Egyptiens n'ont pas matérialisé leur maîtrise par pléthore d'occasions. Hormis la frappe de Meteeb, sur une remise de Zidan, que détourne magistralement Chaouchi (25e) et une frappe de Gedo repoussée par le même gardien (86e), rien à signaler de net. Mais un réalisme pharaonique.
