@DougCameraMan Hey, Doug! That's true enough....fashion most times isn't practical, particularly in clothing.
Practicality would be equated with clothing that was worn until it was worn out..fashion dictates changing entire wardrobes at the dictates of designers. Hats are now back, only they are baseball caps worn at various angles!
Thanks! :) Jack

@raconter1 Previous generations had more sense than the fashion conscious TV & movie addicts of recent decades. The hat was the perfect thing to keep the head warm and to avoid catching a cold, or worse, in the cold temperatures that most of the nation goes through in the winter. Not needed so much in Southern California where the movies and Tv shows were being made, the entertainment industry played a big role in changing society's view of the hat as being something that men didn't need.

@55lincoln Hey, Warren! It was President Kennedy that finally squashed the hat thing when he wore no hat at his inauguration. From that time on, hats were out of fashion. :) Jack
Some one tried selling me one of these for a grand but instead I bought his 1979 scout...don't like lead sleds for me but their nice to look at..

@phomer1 Well you got a Scout and thats great. Desotos are truly a crowd pleaser and was a well built car but I think you would be able to get parts a lot easier with your 79 Scout. Thanks for viewing.

Hey, Warren! Great car...very stately...Mopar claimed at the time "chair high seats" and that men with hats could enter and keep their hats on!! No nonsense with lowered rooflines! LOL! Believe it or not I saw a Desoto sport utility here in central Florida maybe 2 or 3 years ago..it needed some restoration, but was in fairly good shape. I never saw it again!! Oh well..I hope it is restored now. :) Jack

@raconter1 Yes, Chrysler products were stodgy in appearance so a man could wear his hat in the car without removing it! Must have been a "man" thing back then. LOL
I woulda love to seen that rare sport utility Desoto. Thats one car I have never seen.
Thanks Jack for viewing and commenting.
