Crucifixion was just a standard Roman punishment for crimes against the state. The Romans crucified thousands of Gauls, Germans, Sarmatians, Anatolians, Armenians, Jews, Arabs and Africans, basically anyone who didn't accept Roman rule.

@Frink14 you'll note they never said the people being crucified/self-flagellating shouldn't be allowed to do it, they just said they were crazy for wanting to. its perfectly OK for you to say you believe that women aborting foetuses is wrong but its not OK for you to prevent them from doing it. see how that works?

I love how these guys judge others for not being open-minded (like most liberal/progressives do), yet they are calling people freaks and idiots for doing something they believe in which isn't hurting other people only themselves. Yet when it comes to issues like abortions they think it is fine and should be a right. I would call women killing babies just because they WANT to have sex freaks who are disturbed.

My father did this one year... not the crucifixion part but the whipping himself part. They would cut his back and give him a whip so he could whip himself, it has to be not too hard or else the guy would faint and not too soft because the whole point is repentance.

Only the hardcore believers do the crucifixion.
