@giacamo1 You have an interesting, articulate and well-rounded opinion. Please tell us more.

@bobbygummywormz Or, you know, you could support independent film and a charity by buying the DVD for a measly $20...just a thought :)

I am definitely certain that Budd Dwyer was innocent and was only thinking in the best interest of his family when he was driven to end his life. The movie is very well made and tasteful. What strikes me most about the suicide footage is that he is seemingly calm and, for lack of a better word, "routine" about it.

@Fenny3076 It's on amazon, try searching "Honest Man". It's available on DVD and VOD download. If you live overseas (or if you like extras thrown in) you can grab it directly from us at DwyerMovie dott com

Very well made! Looking foward to watching this.
I was only 2 when this happened, never learned about it in history classes in school or college. I only found out by looking up the meaning of Filter's song "Hey Man Nice Shot." Why had I never even heard the name R. Budd Dwyer in 18.5 years of schooling? He was one of the most important men in American history. Will watch this film ASAP.
Also, anyone know where to find the footage of his final speech, not just his final act? I'd like to hear his words rather than just read a transcript...

@boudiccastorm The footage of him speaking has never been fully released. This has always baffled me. Sure, you can show the footage of him killing himself and air it around the world but at no point in time may you hear what he had to say. But anyone familiar with the media in the US shouldn't be too surprised. That said, we were able to obtain a short portion of his speech (about 4:30 minutes of it) which we've included on the DVD as an extra feature.

@EightyFourFilms Shut up with the US-bashing. Go live in Iran for a couple of days, you'll come back and kiss the ground here, instead of whining about the media in this country.

@solpapisolmook It's hardly "US-bashing". All I ask is that we hold this country's politicians to a standard of honesty that all Americans deserve. We need better and it's our right to demand it. The media should accept some responsibility for their complacency as well. Lastly, if nothing changes I won't have to go to Iran because Iran's mantra of total control, corruption and censorship will have come home.

Great job! Bravo! I wish there were more people like Mr. Dwyer in this world. The Justice system is a joke along with the government, and education. The whole system needs revamping. I see the intentions of Mr. Dwyer. He thought that because he was good that doing this would make a difference or bring upon change. So my question is how do you survive in this world if you are good? What do you do? Because this is a current problem that I have.

@alphaomegaMF You said it best, revamp the whole system. I believe the heart of the problem (corruption) is money and a serious overhaul of campaign finance reform (donations to public officials) would be a great start. Additionally we should support AND vote for candidates who have a proven record of backing up their words with tangible action. They're harder to find but they're out there (usually independents or third party). Open you're mind. It's not red vs. blue, it's right vs. wrong.
