@bragauspe 2 things 1 you spelled eel wrong 2 that is a sea snake

I saw this video before we left for Punta Cana and immediately thought this could not have been taken in the Dominican Republic. However, we saw a sea snake (or whatever it is) that looked just like this one while in Punta Cana 6/17 - 6/24. I have seen numerous eels on many snorkeling trips. No eel I''ve ever witnessed looked or acted like this!

it is an ell!

The sea krait is one of the most poisonous snakes in the world. Their poison is even more lethal than the cobra. But fortunately they have small teeth and can't pierce a diver's suit. We went looking for them and they usually live on remote rock outrops of Island cliffs, etc.

If you were snorkeling in DR, then it was an eel. No venomous sea snakes in the Atlantic Basin. But they do look very much like a banded sea krait.
-
Their venom is not mild! Sea snakes are not defensive.
Only when you stand on them it would be a problem i think..

yeah snake bites = you die or close to it

omg, my idiot stepbrother, picked one of those up in the DR, thank god it didnt bite him!
No, it is not poisonous. It is venomous.
