  • We have since built a new smoker from the ground up. Look at our 2010 Smoker Build in HD (3 videos) and you will see that we changed the design and have more of a Backwoods type of design. With the fridge, we were limited in the way that we could modify it. At some point, it is easier to build from scratch than modify. On this smoker we have a ball valve to control the air intake and heat but it is still being forced up through a very small space.

  • Thanks for the detailed vids. Well organized and a pleasure to watch. The "lessons learned" was a nice touch too. I hope you enjoy that new smoker.

  • No problem. We will be building and filming more in the coming months...stay tuned

  • why not angle the bottom pan for drainage. I also was going to add the adjustable plate for heat and venting. you could add a blower of sorts to keep the whole thing at a constant temp... dig the work!

  • I want to thank you for posting all your great ideas. you have helped me out alot. i would really like to see your smoker in action.

  • @PegLegPorker just remember heat rise!

  • Nice Job on the Stainless Steel cooker/smoker!

    Take Care,

    John

  • lol! You started the videos on my 40th birthday and you finished the videos on my sister's 35th birthday. By viewing the videos, I am surprised at how well the instructions were laid out and explained. Although I know nothing about welding, my sister is a journeyman machinist and my husband is a boilermaker with welding training. I look forward to learning how to build my first smoker. Thank you so much for posting these videos. Cheers! : )
