Shakti - The Story of Ahalya 2011 Nritya Mala

JHU Shakti performing "The Story of Ahalya" at their 2011 Nritya Mala. The story begins in the early morning with Ahalya and her husband, Sage Gautama. When the Sage leaves for his ritual at the river, Ahalya goes about her daily chores. Meanwhile, Indra, noticing Ahalya becomes captivated by her beauty. Indra then proceeds to ask Ahalya for her hand in marriage, a scene the Sage returns home to find. Thinking that Ahalya is being unfaithful, the Sage curses her, transforming her into stone. Many years later, as Lord Rama is walking through the forest, stumbles upon on a rock breaking Ahalya's curse.
