The beginning sequence to the movie "Jeremiah Johnson"

I've noticed that a lot of the folks who comment on this video like the idea of getting back to the wild and the natural state of humankind, so I wanted to share the following. Heimo Korth has been living in the ANWAR for over 35 years with his wife. He raised his children there, hunts and traps, and lives about as close to the land as anyone could hope to do these days. Here is a link to his daily life. I hope it inspires others as much as it did me.

Also, I recently found this while driving through Arizona. Our man "Liver-eating" Johnson is featured.

I saw this when it came out with my father. I would go in the woods behind our house and pretend to be Johnson. My .50 Hawkin gun was my Crosman 761 pellet rifle. I still have the rifle and it still works. They don't make movie like this anymore.

My father is almost 90 and I will be 49 in two months.

I have seen this movie a1000 times and know every line by heat. I hunted and traped and fished for 53 years of my life. It's not for the animals or the fish i have taken but the places i have seen and all the adventures i have been on that few people never get to see. Mother q never raised such a foolish child.

They say Jeremiah Johnson was the meanest mountain man alive, now I know why as you say in your post.

I seen this movie at the drive in when I was kid, didn't know until about 10 minutes ago there was a "real" Jeremiah Johnson. "In 1847, his wife, a member of the Flathead American Indian tribe, was killed by a young Crow brave and his fellow hunters, which prompted Johnson to embark on a vendetta against the tribe.[2] The legend says that he would cut out and eat the liver of each man killed. He apparently had a trapping partner named "Del Que"--Wikipedia

kinda wish it was more like the real liver eating johnson, daphiek absaroka, john johnston, whatever you wanted to call him. this was a little too romanticized after i read the book "crow killer" which was as close as possible to his actual life. he also lived through more than the movie showed. in his later life he worked in the army a couple times and later well i wouldnt ruin it for you. give the book a try and let me know what you think.
