  • During the filming of this movie, they would often be interrupted by bombing air raids in London. During the middle of a take, they would all have to run for cover. It happened so often, it would cause delays. Donat wasn't comfortable wearing the uniform of the Nazi enemy, he was more relaxed waiting around with the uniform off, in dressing robes, trading stories on the set. The greatest and most versatile of British actors.

  • Another role in which Donat shows his great acting versatility. I would favorite the whole film. From Mr Chips, Dr Manson in The Citadel, Jan Tartu in this, and the Mandarin in The Inn of the Sixth Happiness, and several others. He worked at not being typecast, and he succeeded. A marvelously talented actor.
