I suffered with extreme "Fibromyalgia" for 6 years. I was in pain 24 hours a day and had loss and numbness down my legs, in my back, base of my skull, shooting pain in my feet, etc.
I found out about Mind-Body healing about a year and a half ago. I did the mental work, went to a therapist who specializes in TMS/ AOS.
I have been pain free for about a year and never even think about it anymore or am limited physically.
This is VERY real, I am living proof.

A great explanation of the "how" of TMS and mind-body pain syndromes.

This also helped me understand my anxiety depersonalization disorder, at the same time as my RSI. Seriously! It's even more simple than i thought it would be. I never hoped to understand the connection between mind and body but it's basically cured my anxiety now that i know what i'm dealing with. Excellent explanation too couldn't be clearer.

You guys are all crazy fucks...fibromyalgia/ CFS is proven to be a real physical disease which is caused by a virus in the immune system...You guys are all a bunch of mindless fucking sheep, you people are a disgrace to people who suffer massive pain (some can't even move their body at all a whole day, and suffer 24/7) But what do you people do??! You sick motherfuckers ALL believe and support that what this retard said is true. You people sicken me!!

Awesome information. Thank you! 95% of the thoughts in our unconscious mind directly effect our life--amazing.

why do we blush?? why do we get goose bumps watching a movie in a warm theater ? why do we get butterflies on a first date? you can believe the mind can cause pain without injury because its true that it does

Great explanation of non injury related pain. his explanation has been so much more insightful than the three heavy text books I've just read on the matter! Thank you for posting :)
if pain is in the mind, than why does it feel as if it's coming straight from the source (e.g. finger), not from your brain? So the only way to get rid of your pain is to get rid of your brain, is that right?

@NorthviewVids The point that Dr Schubiner is making is that the pain sensation IS real. The neural pathways have "learned bad habits" and you definitely feel it. Dr. Schubiner's approach is to retrain the brain's neural pathways rather than get rid of the brain.

MBS disregards the fact that some pain manifests itself from INJURY. How would it explain this, as this stress model doesn't. It only explain chronic illness.

Hi SugarBabyUK
I think Dr. Schubiner would agree that much pain has a physiologic explanation. He really emphasizes that his practice should only be followed after the those physical causes have been eliminated as possible sources for the pain.

@mblumenthal5558 I think the point is also though that physical pain manifesting from injury is still caused by the brain. If you consider that pain is the brain's interpretation of danger, which leads us to protecting ourselves, you can easily see that physical manifestations of pain from "injuries" really do come from the brain. It is the brain's job to pull us back from danger, including re-irritating an injury, how else would it do that? This is what pain is for originally; to protect us.

@SherrinBernstein Yes that is very true... Dr. Schubiner thinks that on occasion and for some people, the brain remembers those pain pathways even after the immediate danger has passed. Would you agree?
