Every time I see this, it brings tears to my eyes. I wish that they would not have cut NASA's budget, so that there could have been more shuttles, and other exploratory missions. NASA is our greatest asset toward the future!

@NBurbine This was before they took off. -.-

HOW ARE THEY WALKING IN SPACE

@Erik0072 Oh, stop your whining. Obama did not "kill space exploration". Last October, he signed into law "NASA Space Exploration Act" that paves the way for a manned mission to an asteroid by 2025. A manned mission to Mars is envisioned for some time in the 2030s. NASA chief Charles Bolden said the "vote of confidence from the president ensures America's space program will remain at the forefront of a bright future for our nation". Do you politicize everything?

bush wanted to move away from the orbiters because of Columbia, to start deep space exploration with the Constellation system that resembled Apollo. Bush approved money for that. Obama killed that. OBAMA KILLED SPACE EXPLORATION> get it right you pundit hacks.

I think it's cool how there uniforms are numbers 7,6,5,4,3,2,1. Touching video.

To every single one of you, regardless of nationality, who worked and manned these shuttles: Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. All my life, I have been in awe and have dreamed big and deeply because of what you guys and gals and your forefathers have provided. Cheers from a very grateful Canadian.

I was sitting at the Astronaut Hall of Fame for the final launch watching this on a big screen. It was all I could do to hold back the tears watching this.

this must have been heartbreaking for these guys as this the last time they will do this for a Shuttle crew.
Brings tears to my eyes. I commend you all for a job well done and for all that you've done which no one fully understands in the moment we call - today!
