2 of 5 from "Welding" on Modern Marvels from The History Channel.

Half science and half art, the ancient technology of welding is integral to modern life. It is the process of bonding, as simple as banging two metals together or as sophisticated as interlinking molecules with sound waves, and without it, the modern world around us - from cars to buildings to pipes that deliver clean water - would not exist.

  • Tell that to my father, a stainless steel welder for over 34 years.

Welders are not retarded. They are one of the backbones of American ingenuity. Retards are people who do not understand those who do the dirty work.

  • @jvigil2007 with two sheets, some torch and some hammering, which is teoretically exactly what they do.. Althought its a bit quicker:)

  • @UTubeisSHIT523441 how else are you going to weld giant sheets of steel and aluminum together?

  • hard work can be. I want to try out! :)

    (I'm welder)

  • mind blowing...........

  • That..was..awesome...

  • @feldschpah agreed brother!

  • Im in metal fabrication 10 in my highschool. We have a kid in out class, and he is the biggest idiot ever. and the teacher doesnt realise it... When he goes to set up the O/A torch, he turns on the acetylene like 5-6 full turns, pushes the regulators into 15 PSI, and then does the same with the Oxygen... You have to be a fucking idiot to do that... Acetylene is uncontrollable over 15 psi... Cant believe he passed his safety test...

  • @UTubeisSHIT523441 crude and dumb approach? Ide like to see you weld aluminum to steel by hand. and test it for strength...

  • There are all grades of welders. SOme are paid consultancy fees to weld stuff like nuclear reactors or Turbine Blades,or any section that are critical . (bridges,Tunnel boring Machines). I remember when once welders from SOuth Africa were brought in just to weld steel sections in a bridge.Only retards could think that welders are retards.

  • awsome video man i didnt even know about this type of welding seems alot eaiser than stick welding haha
