New motor to me. It has a bit of a throttle delay. Had to switch out the motor legs. For some unknown reason this 1977 85 HP came with a one piece lower unit. I have a two piece lower units and the mounting legs are different. This is first start since removing the power head and replacing the motor leg. I guess it hasn't been run all year. Gas is 5 gallons 87 octane, seafoam, and 2 gallons TURBO BLUE (109.5 octane). I believe the low octane before the turbo blue caused my previos motor to spark to hot and melt the piston.

  • Looks and sounds like you have alot of oil or too much sea-foam. You should try running the sea-foam through it and see after that. What do you mix the oil at or is it injected?
