I do have to say, even though I represent a US Regimental in the re-enactments, the germans are ALWAYS in step and always prim & proper while marching. So hats off to you boys, see ya guys on the field !!!
@Albukhshi My question is this: Is there any documented use of the Hohenfreidberger Marsch during the Am. War for Independence. I love it when they play it on fifes & drums at a reenactment--but can it be documented?
Good post Jt.....Yorktown - Hessian surrender! The American Colonists took it as a great insult to have to fight 'British puppets' i.e. Hessians, instead of the British troops themselves.
I hate to be a botherer but Prussians Gloria wasn't written until 1871. (to those of you saying that this is Prussian Glory) Its actually the Hohenfriedberger Marsch!! ;)
@Tlax13 They're not Prussians, they're Hessians...

I've seen many reenactment units with poor drill, these gentlemen have nailed it and done their Prussian forbears honour.

well, they're Hessians, and they're playing the Hohenfriedberger marsch.
either way, the Hessians were inspired in Uniforms and customs by Prussia-the Hohenfriedberger being a Prussian song originally).
