A new permanent State Capitol exhibit, "Mentors and Models," was dedicated on September 21, 2010 as part of the 53rd anniversary week events marking the desegregation of Central High School. The exhibit, located in the north foyer on the first floor of the State Capitol, highlights the lives of social justice and civil rights advocates Daisy and Lucious Christopher " L.C." Bates, and the making of the "Testament" memorial, a monument on the Capitol grounds honoring the Little Rock Nine.
