Sousa wrote this march in 1927, dedicated to the U.S. 4th Cavalry Division, and supposedly for 4th Cav Band, which was later redesignated the 60th Army Band and moved to Ft. Polk, LA. I served in the 60th AB from 12/65 to 4/67. I've also read, but not confirmed, that this was the only march for which Sousa added a tag phrase (the 'a hunting we will go' at the end.)
we always rewrote the baritone part for french horn.....

huh, something seems off, they didnt add the hell-trplets at the end for baritone, it was HARD to play :D
