  • we always rewrote the baritone part for french horn.....

  • Sousa wrote this march in 1927, dedicated to the U.S. 4th Cavalry Division, and supposedly for 4th Cav Band, which was later redesignated the 60th Army Band and moved to Ft. Polk, LA. I served in the 60th AB from 12/65 to 4/67. I've also read, but not confirmed, that this was the only march for which Sousa added a tag phrase (the 'a hunting we will go' at the end.)

  • huh, something seems off, they didnt add the hell-trplets at the end for baritone, it was HARD to play :D

  • i love Sousa. enough said

  • love the euph part:)

  • @DazzleZazzle

You have got to be joking. All Sousa march horn parts are basically the same.

  • @ButterflyofOceans yep, it was! ^_^

  • @vampirelover28 thats fun!

  • @ButterflyofOceans i played alto sax, it was semi hard but fun ^_^

  • @vampirelover28 what part did you play? I play trumpet and its not too hard. I love when the trumpets have the melody.
